02 In our first lesson, we learned how the books of the Bible are organized. We also learned that they are not in chronological order, and that is a real problem when it comes to trying to understand what the Bible is teaching us. The Bible is describing events that happened in a specific sequence, but it presents those events in a scrambled way. It’s like a puzzle that’s been dropped on the floor: some of the pieces are still connected, but many have fallen out of place. To get a clear picture of what’s happening in the Bible and to understand why God acts the way He does, we need to collect all the pieces and get things back in proper order in our minds. Even though the books of the Bible aren’t in time order, we can create a mental order in our minds of the major time periods…
